Open your story and swipe up to see who has viewed it. Instagram Story Viewer, IG new feature. The usernames and number of people who viewed each video or photo in your story will be displayed.
Only you can see who has seen your story. What if my story has been viewed for more than 24 hours?
Social media is now all about documentation and Instagram Story Viewer is one of the popular features.
Instagram Stories are short snapshots of the lives of people, sharing for 24 hours.
What is Instagram Stories?
Instagram Stories allows users to upload photos and videos to their Story. This Story is visible to all followers. Recent Stories are marked by a gradient border that surrounds the profile photo. Instagram Stories are like Snaps in Snapchat. They disappear after 24 hours.
Your Instagram Story is published independently from your Instagram photos and videos. Even though you may be familiar with the basics of sharing photos and videos, there are hidden features within the app that can help you make your Story more creative.
How do Instagram Stories work?
Instagram Stories allows users to upload short videos and images to create a temporary “Story.” Each Story can be given stickers, timestamps, and doodles. You can also apply filters and effects to it. Your Story will be visible to everyone if you have a public account. However, if your account has a private account, only those who follow you can see it.
Viewers have the option of directly responding to your Story via direct message (DM), but you can also disable replies in your app’s settings.
You can also view who has viewed it by opening your Story and clicking the icon.
Why should you use Instagram Stories?
Instagram Stories can generate a lot of engagement and value, whether you share a Story from a company account or your personal profile.
In Instagram Stories, 500 million users share disappearing content. This has increased the time spent in-app to 30 minutes per day.
Many brands have had success with this platform. Instagram Stories has been a great way to promote brands such as Bombas, Chameleon Cold-Brew, and Doritos.
This is why Instagram Stories are short and only last for a brief time.
How long Instagram Stories are?
Instagram Stories can last for 24 hours before they disappear. However, a Story can contain up to 15 seconds of video before it cuts to the next piece. A third-party app can be used to cut longer videos into segments of 15 seconds to add to your Story.
Instagram Stories are only available for 24 hours, but videos and photos can be viewed and played within a set time.
The maximum roll time for individual videos added to your Instagram Story is 15 seconds. For example, if you add a video to your Instagram Story, it will play for 15 seconds regardless of how long the original video was.
Instagram Stories has a 15-second limit. However, you can play longer videos in your Story. You can break up a longer video into 15-second segments, and then add each segment to your Instagram Story. These mobile apps can help you do it:

How to View Instagram Stories?
When you open the Instagram mobile app, Instagram Stories will appear at the top. These Stories are often the first piece of content that users see when they open Instagram. They can help you get more engagement and promote your regular Instagram photo gallery.
Let’s look at how to view Instagram Stories.
1. Navigate to Instagram’s home screen by opening it.
Open your Instagram mobile app, and tap the home icon in the lower-left corner to view Instagram Stories. Instagram Stories cannot be viewed on the desktop site.

After you have navigated to Instagram’s homepage, you will see a series of circular icons at the top. Each icon represents active Stories from the users you follow. In the screenshot below, these icons are highlighted within a red square. You can view and add to your own Story on the far left side of all the Stories you are following.
2.To view the Story of that user, tap on the circular icon.
The gradient circle will be around each circular icon at the top of the home screen. This indicates that the user has just posted a Story. Tap on it to expand the Story. It can be either a photo or video. The latter will automatically play once you tap on it.
3. Tap to navigate among Story’s photos or videos.
An Instagram Story can include multiple photos or videos, arranged in the order they were posted. You’ll be able to see the latest piece of content first. Tap on your mobile device’s screen and you will be able to see the next photo or video the user has added to their Story.
4. Swipe to move from one Instagram Story into the next.
Swiping left and to the right while you view an Instagram Story allows you to switch between Stories from different users by swiping left and right. After becoming an Instagram user, the following menu will appear when you open an Instagram story.
The screenshot above can be used as a reference to view the Instagram Stories for the accounts that you follow.
5. To view Stories privately, use an Instagram Story viewer.
Did you know you can view Stories anonymously using a third-party tool? You can view Stories anonymously with an Instagram Story viewer. This is a good option if you are looking for freelancers. Some Story viewers will allow you to save copies of Stories automatically, while others offer a paid option that allows you to save new Stories.
You can view Instagram Story viewers online. Search for any username and you’ll see copies of Stories that were posted from that account. Here’s what that looks like in Ingramer’s Instagram Story viewer.
You can also use these additional tools:
- Instafollowers.co
- Stories IG
- Insta-Stories.online
- StoriesDown
- Dumpor

It’s possible to create Instagram Stories that are successful, but you need some more tricks and tips to make them look as popular as the Stories that big brands and influencers share. Some of my favorite Instagram Stories include those shared by Chloe Coscarelli (chef), Busy Phillips (actress), Casper mattress brand, Hutch interior design app, and Busy Phillips (mattress brand Casper).
Let’s first go over the basics of sharing an Instagram Story.
1. Open the Instagram app. Tap your profile picture in the upper left corner.
Open the Instagram app, click on the profile picture in the upper left corner to start a Story. You can swipe right or click on the plus sign at the top of the screen.

Clicking the plus sign will automatically prompt you to create a Story instead of a Story. Click Story at the bottom left to access the Story creator.
2. Choose a filter or image capture mode.
After you have started creating your Story you can select a filter by swiping left and right on the filter carousel at bottom of the screen.

Apart from a filter, you can also choose a capture mode for filming or taking photos directly from the app. These options are located in the left-hand corner of the screen.
There are many options available:
Normal
Normal is choosing the default option. It is the opposite of what it sounds like Tap once on the camera button to capture a picture, then hold down to record a video. Instagram Stories can only be 15 seconds long. If you wish to share a longer video, either film in 15-second intervals or use a tool that allows you to break up your longer clips into 15-second segments.
Creat
You can start a Story by creating it in Create mode. This screen allows you to place stickers, place animated gifs, and write text.
Boomerang
Boomerang mode loops GIFs for up to three seconds.
Layout
Layout mode will allow you to view a screen that has four quadrants. You can then capture four photos. You can alter the grid’s style.
Multi-Capture
Multi-capture mode lets you capture photos and videos simultaneously without having to upload them individually to your Story.
Photobooth
You can take four photos and then arrange them in a Story. The flash between the photos gives you the look of a photobooth.
Hands-free
If you are preparing to set up your camera for a video, you can use hands-free mode. Before you begin recording, make sure it is supported. In a moment, we’ll discuss this feature more.
Niveau
Level overlays a grid on your camera to align objects in a straight line. This option can be combined with other image capture modes like multi-capture or photobooth.
3. Use the camera to capture a photo or video.
Once you have chosen your filter, image capture mode and other settings, you can start creating content and filming. To film a video, hold down the button and tap once to take a picture.
You can also change the filter if you don’t like it. You can add stickers, text and drawings.
4. After you have edited your photo/video, tap “Your Story.”
Click the “Download” icon at the top to save your edited video or photo to your gallery.
It’s one thing to know how to post to Instagram Stories. But knowing whatto publish is another. It’s crucial for businesses to identify their ideal followers and what they would be interested in seeing on Instagram. You can teach and promote things on Instagram, even though Instagram is a visual platform.
How to Use Instagram Stories for Business?
We’ll be sharing some ideas on how to use Instagram Stories to build a following and a customer base.
- Film footage from an office event.
- Send breaking news to your industry.
- Demonstrate the product.
- Promote a company event
- Check out a blog post from your company.
- Mention other companies that work or follow you.
1. Film footage from an office event
Sometimes being human is the best thing for a business to do on Instagram. A short video of a company event is one way to achieve this. It doesn’t matter if it’s an office holiday party, or an award banquet; posting video of it to your Story will provide instant entertainment for your followers. This content shows that you are a friendly and relevant voice in your market.
2. Send breaking news to your industry.
You can use your Instagram Story just like you would on your company blog to report on current happenings in your industry. You can transform small news stories that don’t warrant an entire article into Stories on Instagram with the right design.
This will keep users returning to you for market updates. As shown below in the Instagram Story from HubSpot, you can also ask users their opinions. In just a few minutes, we’ll show you how Instagram “stickers can help you accomplish this.
3. Demonstrate the product.
The product you offer might not seem the most attractive or simple to use. Your Instagram Story is the ideal format to show potential customers how your product is used. You can create a lengthy video that is broken into 15-second segments to show your customers what your product does.
If you sell software, for example, you might record a video of your computer screen, using a recording tool like Loom, that shows people how to log in, use the software’s dashboard, and navigate to the various functions included in the product.
Remember to adjust the dimensions of your video before you upload it to your Instagram Story. Keep this in mind Instagram Stories’ image dimensions these are1920px high and 1080px width with an aspect ratio of9:16.
4. Encourage your company to organize an event.
Is your company a host of a trade conference? Or do you attend one every year? Your Instagram Story can be used to promote the event and encourage your followers to follow you. You can either work with a graphic artist or create your own artwork to illustrate an event flyer that includes all the information needed to find you.
You can do most of these things directly within Instagram. To add text to your Story, you can use the native text options.
- The event’s title.
- Adresse of the event
- Dates that you will be attending.
- Your booth number.
- Official hashtag for the event.
5. Check out one of the blog posts or videos from your company.
You need to get as much exposure as possible for your blog posts and YouTube videos. Even if your blog is not your primary source of traffic through social media, your Instagram Story can help readers find the post or video they are looking for and then return to it later.
The screenshot below shows how Google Pixel used Instagram Story to preview a video about a customer using the device. After you tap the Story’s end, Google prompts you to swipe up with the finger. This will take you to the full YouTube video.
6. Mention companies that work or follow you.
You’ll start to see other business accounts follow you on Instagram as you grow your following. You can give shout-outs to these accounts on your Instagram Story, regardless of whether they are business partners or just fans. This is an easy and passive way to build relationships with those who are most important to your business’s success. In the tips below, we’ll show you how to link to Instagram Stories from other accounts.
Let’s start with the basics. Now let’s look at tips and tricks to create high-quality, clickable Instagram Stories.
Instagram Story Tricks and Hacks
Instagram releases unique Story stickers often — whether it’s for a weekday, a holiday, or a season. Check this section every day for new and timely stickers to add to your Story.
1. Stickers are a great idea.
After you have captured a great picture or video, it is time to add some stickers. These stickers can be accessed by clicking on “Create” and then tapping on the smiling sticker icon at the upper right-hand side of your screen after you have captured a photo.
These are the best practices to follow after choosing a sticker.
You can change the size of your stickers.
To increase or decrease the size of the sticker, pinch it once you have added it to your Story. To change the position of the sticker, you can tap and drag it around.
Add location, hashtags, poll, or selfie stickers.
You can increase engagement with your Instagram Story by sharing it with other people who are doing the same thing as you. To personalize your Story, open the stickers section and tap on any of these buttons:

Stickers for Location
Start typing in your location, and you’ll be able to pull in a geographically specific sticker to show where you are. People can tap the sticker to see more photos and stories happening in the same area when they view your Story.
Hashtag Stickers: Instagram Story Viewer
Similar concept: Add this sticker to your Story and type in a # symbol. Viewers will be able to click the sticker to see other users of it (Instagram Story Viewer).
Poll Stickers
Instagram Stories can include a two-option poll. You can also customize the answers to make them more unique than “Yes or No.” To gauge how people are engaging with your content, you can use a poll sticker.
Selfie Stickers
Tap on the camera icon to open the Stickers menu.
Take a photo of yourself or a picture with someone else (both will work). You can then use the face to decorate your Instagram Story. This is a little creepy but it’s very funny and memorable.
2. Record an Instagram video hands-free
You’re likely to be a regular Instagram video recorder, so you should know that you must hold your thumb on the record button as long as you are recording. It can be tedious when trying to create dynamic videos that require greater hand mobility.
Did you know that you can make these videos? Hands-free“?
You can find the hands-free video option in the list below. To start the video, tap the record button one time and then again after you have gotten the footage that you desire.
3. Share your stories with others
You can increase engagement and views on your Instagram Story by allowing viewers to share it with their friends as direct messages (DMs).
Navigate to the settings of your app, and then to Privacy Tap then Story.
To increase your reach, toggle on “Allow sharing as a message” to allow viewers to DM friends with your Story. Voila!
4. Use the pen.
To add text, symbols, and embellishments to your Story, use the pen. Once you have captured a photo, or video, tap the pen icon at the upper right-hand side of your screen to open your options.
You can also adjust the thickness of the pen strokes or the color of the writing.
The highlighter pen is a great tool to emphasize words or highlight photos or videos.
5. You can also add a background color.
You can choose a background color to use in a Story, such as the ones I shared above.
To open the color palette, take a photo (it doesn’t have to be of anything particular).
You can choose from one of three color options, or you can press and hold one of the colors to open the entire spectrum.
Next, write anywhere you like on the screen, and then hold your finger down until the background color appears.
You can also use the fourth option, the eraser, to make new shapes or words from the background if you really want to go crazy.
6. 6. Mention an Instagram account in your Story
Sometimes it is not enough to just send an Instagram Story directly to someone. You need to give credit in the photo or video. In these instances, Instagram allows you to tag up to 10 handles directly in your Story.
Take a photo or video to mention Instagram in your Story. Tap the next button. Icon of square “A” In the upper right-hand corner of your screen. In the upper right-hand corner of the screen, enter the account that you want to tag.“@”The account’s symbol and its first letter. Scroll down to the list of suggested accounts below your cursor, until you find the account that you are interested in, then tap it. Below is a list of these options.
You can post the Story and the account or person you’ve tagged will get a notification.
7. Your text should be funnier
Instagram Stories’ text is quite basic. You can jazz it up by using these tricks.
Customize your colors.
You can create your own color scheme from any of the colors found in the photos or videos you have taken if you aren’t satisfied with the one Instagram has provided.
Tap the eyedropper icon at the lower-left corner of your screen.
The dropper can be used to sample colors from an image that you have captured. You can use the dropper when writing text or using your pen tool.
You can add a drop shadow in your Story’s text.
You can add shadowing or highlighting to your text to increase the drama. To add more emphasis to a brightly colored text, I recommend using black or white. To add drama to your words, you can move the text over or under the brighter text.
Turn your text into a rainbow.
Although this one is tricky, you can turn your text into an actual gradient rainbow.
Tap the text icon and enter your message to add your Story. Then, highlight your text.
Here’s where things get tricky: Turn your phone sideways so that you can place one finger on the right side for your text. Then, with the other finger, tap on a color and hold it until the color wheel appears.
Drag your fingers from left to right across the color wheel and text to create rainbow text. Slowly, go letter by letter until creating a rainbow. This one was difficult for me to master. I used both my thumbs to highlight the text as well as the color wheel.
Gradually, add text to a story.
You might add text or stickers sometimes to images to enhance them. This is usually done to promote an event or content offer or encourage viewers to swipe up to see a link you shared.
Edit the photo that you wish to share, save it to your camera roll, and then post it. Next, swipe up to add the screenshot to your next Story installment. Continue doing this until the Story is complete. Keep taking photos of every new photo to add to the Story.
8. Check out who has viewed your Instagram story.
Snapchat users can see the friends who viewed their Stories during the 24 hour period in which the Story was visible. Instagram Stories allows you to do exactly the same thing but in the exact same way.
You can see who has viewed your Instagram Story by going to the homepage on your phone and clicking on the circle icon that denotes your Story. This screenshot shows you how it looks.
Click on “Your Story”, from the Instagram homepage. Swipe up from the bottom to save your Story. This will bring up a list of all accounts that have viewed the content.
While it might give personal Instagrammers an extra boost, business users can gain valuable insight into the interests of their followers by seeing who has viewed your Story. You can determine which photos and videos to keep posting by looking at the number of people who have viewed your Stories.
9. Your text and stickers should be centered
Blue lines will appear horizontally and vertically in your Story frame as you move text and stickers around. These lines are your guiding lines to ensure everything is centered.
Your text should not be too high or low on the screen.
Ensure that you don’t put anything in your Story too high, or too low, as this could cause your Story to be cut off. Instagram also adds information such as your name and the date your Story was published, which can block your text.
10. You can add music to a Story or muffle it.
This is easy: Use your phone’s native streaming application to turn on music and then record a video Story. Before you start editing and sharing, ensure that the sound icon is not muted. This will allow your viewers to jam along with you.
Alternatively, tap on the sound icon to make your video muted. A slash will appear over it.
11. Upload Instagram Stories directly from your phone’s camera roll.
You don’t have to create great Instagram Stories through the Instagram app. You can also upload photos or videos directly from the native camera roll of your mobile device.
Open your Instagram Story’s camera lens, tap the “Upload a Photo or Video” button, and you can upload it to an Instagram Story. Icon of a little square in the lower lefthand corner. Below is an example of what it looks like.
Clicking the icon above will bring up your native media gallery. Here you can choose any image or video to post as an Instagram Story. It’s as simple as that.
